• I'm Sara. I'm the mommy to two little boys, ages 2 and 7 years old. I was diagnosed with stage 4 Burkitts Lymphoma in February 2007. I went through hi-dose chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant. After all that I have been in remission for over a year now. I raise Ameraucana, Araucana, and Orpington chickens. We have a small herd of beef cattle. There are also 2 dogs and 2 cats here. I enjoy quilting, and try to work on project when I have time. I enjoy being at home, taking care of my kids, animals, and our home.

Another Quilting Post

I should be working on the Christmas projects I have going but I am not.  Well I was, and that got me thinking about all the unfinished quilts I have.  I can’t believe I let it get this bad.  I need to get these done.  What I need to do is find someone and send [...]

Potholder prototype

I love giving Christmas gifts, but sometimes giving the right gift is hard.  I struggle every year to figure out what to give my husband’s grandmothers.  I’ve given gift certificates the last couple of years, but just can’t stand the thought of doing the same again.  So after much thought I’ve decided on matching potholder [...]

I brought it home [...]

I’ve made it to the BIG 30!

Today I have made it to a day some people dread.  For me though, I consider this day a great accomplishment.  Today I am:

I don’t feel old, and as a teenager I distinctly remember thinking that 30 was OLD.  Apparently I didn’t know as much as I thought I did at the time.   I know [...]

Late post

I know this is late, but I still wanted to share the boys Halloween costumes.  I’m not a big fan of store bought costumes simply because most of them are characters from shows I don’t let my kids watch.  So I saw something similar to this in a parade and figured they suited our family [...]
